GLEN ROCK, N.J. – Margaret M. Murphy, a resident of Glen Rock, died Friday, June 24. She was 81.
Before moving to Glen Rock, she resided in Fair Lawn. She was born and raised in New York City.
She was a parishioner of St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church in Glen Rock. A woman who loved anything Irish, she was a champion step dancer and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Before retiring, she was employed with First Jersey Savings in Rochelle Park.
She is survived by her children, retired Rear Adm. Patrick E. McGrath and wife Anne, Dennis McGrath and wife Mim, Eileen Kellerman and husband Rick, Mary McGrath and husband Michael Lavin and Kerry Egan and husband Jim; her siblings, James Murphy, Eileen Harrington and Christena Bruno; and 14 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J. McGrath
The family was scheduled to receive relatives and friends Monday, June 27, from 7-9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral Mass is planned for Tuesday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catharine Church, 905 S. Maple Ave., Glen Rock. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
